Terms of use.
Last updated September 22, 2026. These terms apply to medpayiq.com and every tool on it. Using the site means you accept them.
1. What MedPayIQ is
MedPayIQ is an informational reference. It presents data published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (the Physician Fee Schedule, ICD-10-CM, NCCI edits and hospital directory) and explains how that data is commonly applied. It is not a substitute for a certified coder, a compliance review, a lawyer, a financial advisor or a clinician, and nothing on the site creates a professional relationship of any kind.
2. Estimates are not quotes
Every dollar figure is an estimate derived from a published fee schedule or from the numbers you enter. Actual payment depends on payer contracts, coverage rules, documentation, modifiers, cost sharing and the release in effect on the date of service. Verify with CMS, the payer and the provider before making a billing, payment or care decision.
3. Do not enter protected health information
The patient tools run in your browser and store cost scenarios and saved references on your device. The analyzer, checker and estimate tools accept codes and amounts, not patient records. Do not enter names, dates of birth, member numbers, claim numbers or any other information that identifies a patient into a field that is sent to our servers. Community reports accept structured answers only, so they cannot carry patient information.
4. Accounts and workspaces
An account is optional and is used only for team workspaces. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity in your workspace. We may suspend accounts used to attack the service, scrape it at volume, or submit false community reports. Paid plans, when offered, are governed by the terms shown at purchase; this release is free.
5. Acceptable use
You may use the site for your own research, billing and patient-education work, including printing and copying results with their source lines. You may not resell the data as a product, remove source or copyright notices, automate requests at a rate that degrades the service, or use the site to attempt fraud against any payer.
6. Intellectual property
CMS data is public. CPT codes and descriptions are copyright of the American Medical Association and are used under license; CPT is a registered trademark of the AMA. ICD-10-CM is maintained by the National Center for Health Statistics. The site's design, text, guides and software are MedPayIQ's. MedPayIQ is independent of CMS, the AMA, AAPC and every payer.
7. Community reports
Denial and appeal reports are anonymous, structured and aggregated. By submitting one you confirm it describes a real claim you handled, contains no patient information, and may be combined with other reports and shown on the site.
8. No warranty and limitation of liability
The site is provided as is. We work to keep the data current and the calculations correct, and we publish the release and date behind every number, but we do not warrant that the site is error-free or that any estimate matches a payment you will receive. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MedPayIQ is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site, including lost reimbursement, denied claims or payment decisions.
9. Changes
We may change the site and these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
